Tree Surgery and Tree Pruning Services
Why Do Trees Need Maintenance?
Trees that are not regularly maintained can become a liability to public safety. Removing branches that are weak, diseased, or dead can prevent them from falling in high winds and storms. Tree maintenance is best done during the winter months for most tree species. Please ask our arborists for advice.
Planned tree maintenance, often referred to as tree surgery or arboriculture, ensures your trees remain healthy. It prevents low-hanging branches and unmanaged growth from obstructing light in open spaces, encroaching on neighbouring properties and becoming tangled with overhead power lines.
Avoid Insurance Claims
The cost of tree maintenance is negligible when you consider that it prevents claims for property damage and personal injury, which can run into several thousand pounds. Storm damage is often caused by diseased or fungal growth or by deadwood falling onto property, machinery, and vehicles.
Maintain Site Conservation
Tree services are essential for maintaining the aesthetics and eco-friendly aspects of your grounds. Regular tree inspections and tree maintenance reduce the risk of disease and insect infestations spreading, which can ultimately lead to internal decay of the tree, its base and the root network.
Protect Your Budget
Investing in expert tree care services saves you from having to invest in expensive machinery, equipment, staff and training. When you appoint us as your tree specialists, rest assured that your property and visitors are protected by our multi-million-pound public liability insurance.
An Explanation of Crown Lifting
Lower, overgrown branches can obstruct pathways, roads, light and views. Crown lifting is tree work focused on lifting the tree’s crown. As tree specialists, we’ll ensure the structure remains intact.
- Benefits of crown lifting:
- Clearance for pedestrian or vehicle access
- Reduces the risk of disease
- Enhances tree health and aesthetics
- Improves light and air movement
An Explanation of Crown Thinning
Sometimes referred to as deadwood removal or tree trimming, crown thinning is when a tree canopy becomes too dense and overcrowded. This puts a lot of stress on the structure and can lead to more dead and diseased branches.
- Benefits of crown thinning:
- Protects nearby structures and site users
- Better air circulation and less wind resistance
- Enables sunlight to reach inner branches
- Reduces the risk of structural failure
- Improves tree health, strength and longevity
An Explanation of Crown Reduction
If tree maintenance isn’t part of your current grounds maintenance plan, your trees’ canopies may have extended beyond the desired boundaries. Left unresolved, this can cause branches to fall under too much weight.
- Benefits of crown reduction:
- Protects nearby structures and site users
- Reduces risk of falling branches
- Better air circulation and less wind resistance
- Allows more sunlight in outdoor spaces
- Maintains a safer height for the tree
An Explanation of Pollarding
Where trees have become challenging to manage, pollarding is suitable for specific tree species, such as willows, chestnuts and others. Our expert tree arborists can advise whether this suits your tree species.
- Benefits of pollarding:
- Protects nearby structures and site users
- Keeps trees within a strict height and spread
- Protects overhead power lines and cables
- Reduces the risk of storm damage
- Protects tree longevity and wildlife
