Commercial Robotic Lawn Mower Service

Why Install a Robotic Mower?

Beautiful, lawned areas of a property can quickly turn into an untidy eyesore if not regularly maintained. If you feel commercial mowing services are becoming too costly to sustain, a robot mowing service could be the answer. Murphy’s Ground Maintenance can set up and manage this for you.

If your site has expansive grassed areas with good drainage and very little falling debris, robot mowing is ideal. Not only can it save you money, but it can also maintain the grass at a consistent length by trimming it more regularly, at times that are convenient for you and your site visitors.

Significant Cost Savings

Since incorporating robots into our clients’ maintenance contracts, we’ve reduced their grass-cutting costs by more than a third. Not only do they reduce the number of visits our team makes, but they are also smaller and cheaper to run.

Convenient with Safety in Mind

While you and your organisation get on with your day, our robots quietly perform micro-cuts regularly, programmed to operate at times that are most convenient for you. If disturbed or picked up, they automatically stop.

Eco-friendly Solution

Once installed, robot mowers can halve the carbon footprint of other commercial mowing services. The units are designed to run efficiently on electricity instead of petrol. The fine, nutrient-rich grass clippings also provide a natural fertiliser.

How Do Robotic Lawn Mowers Work?

The remote mower is safely stored in a covered docking station when not in use, to protect it from the weather whilst it charges. Then, when scheduled to do so, it automatically leaves its station to perform its job.

Is a Robotic Mower Right For Your Site?

Initially, suitability of your site will need to be checked to ensure the units will operate efficiently and consistently, with little intervention required. A Site Suitability Check will typically include the following.

How Are Automated Mowers Installed?

Once costs and service levels have been approved, installation can be scheduled within the agreed timeframe. The power source will need to be in place, to enable the docking station placement. We can then complete the installation as follows.

Robot Mowing Questions

Areas that need to be mowed are programmed as zones by the Murphy’s Ground Maintenance team. These zones exclude all permanent obstacles such as outdoor ornaments, seating, paths and trees. They can be reprogrammed to suit layout changes.

They can, but ground conditions matter. We’ll set mowing windows and seasonal adjustments to protect turf and presentation.

We configure the platform’s security features where supported and plan the installation to reduce exposure where practical. The units cannot be used without access to the software and security information, which renders them useless if stolen. Site security measures like gates and CCTV remain the client’s responsibility, but we’ll advise on what’s worth doing.

Maintenance requires routine blade changes, as well as cleaning and periodic checks to keep performance consistent, plus seasonal adjustments during peak growth.

Whilst it reduces the routine mowing workload, most sites still need edging, debris clearance, and seasonal grounds work periodically to keep their sites looking their best.
